Hi all.

Been lurking for a bit, but decided to post the first shot from my Bintel N200 on HEQ5 Pro.

Literally picked up the camera, attached it to the scope using the T-adapter, set it on manual with mirror lock up and guessed the exposure settings. I think I got lucky.

20D @ 1/125 ISO100 -2EV

Taken on November 24.

Not completely sharp, but didn't get a chance to take many more as the batteries went flat after 3 shots!

I was pretty pleased with this, so it's currently my desktop wallpaper @ 2560x1600. This image is a 1600x1200 crop from the centre of frame and then resized to 1024x768.

Hope you enjoy it.

Ben.

Very nice, I like the way the terminator bring out the crater detail. I am not sure but is there a bit of colour there.

Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I continue to fluke things until I figure out what I'm doing! :)

Jen, that's exactly the case! Since I picked up the scope, the night I got this shot has been the only clear night! Summer in Melbourne, yay!

There could be a bit of colour there, but it's probably a remnant from the post processing. I've no idea how to process space based images. Terrestrial, no problems, but anything pointing upwards and I'm back to being a noob.

Look forward to sharing other shots when I get the chance to take some!

Ben.

Very good, and you captured my favorite, the Lunar X illumination on the terminator...!
