Desperately suffering cloud fever here...

I had some clear skies to the east this evening, so thought I'd try some star trails. 125 x 30s exposures, 5 darks, Olympus E-510, 200ASA, Zuiko digital 8mm fisheye @ f/5.6. Stacked in Startrails.de and post processing in PS. Cloud affected towards the end...

Trying to make the most of it, Dave.:) Had it been clear across more of the sky I would've been playing in the obs:D though time would've been limited before moon rise:rolleyes:.

That's a nice effect Al.
I've always wanted to try and get a sunset shot ...trees, beach whatever,
and overlay trails in some fashion. I reckon it would make a great
composite.
Cloud fever:) You'll hate hearing that I retired to bed about 12am last night
with almost perfect seeing, temp was about 15°C.Nil Cloud...perfect.
I was just too buggered after having Friday off tidying the yard in
order for my daughter's birthday party :)

Skiting <person/>. :)

The last piece of clear sky yesterday was a small hole at about 6pm. Now it's almost cloudless. If we weren't off to a 1st birthday party I could put the solar filter on the C8 but I think I need a solar scope to get a proper fix.

Al, those "stars" near the bottom of frame are moving much quicker than the rest. Maybe you need some infill between the trees.

Very nice Al.

Now if you can only get your misconceptions about GR sorted out...

After seeing how Startrails.de works, getting star trails over a sunset should be pretty easy. I'd plan on starting late while the sunset if getting dark to suit the longish exposure and carry on. Should work a treat.

;) and I thought someone with eagle eyes would pick them for (Ford) meteors!:P

Nothing to sort out. No misconceptions. Just not interested in arguing semantics.:)
