This is still new territory for me. My first few shots in Ha. Taken last night with a full moon. Also had problems with gradients.

SWED80
Canon 450D Modded
Lumicon Ha
IDAS LPS

Orion 1x10s, 1x30s, 2x5min, 3x3min
Horsehead 2x5min, 3x3min
Darks taken

I am using the 450D while the 40D is getting the Baader filter mod.

Nice images Rob, long exposures are the key to Ha imaging. Targets like Orion do benifit from some short exposures for the core but the only way to get a lot of the detail is by shooting looooong exposures.

Thank you Steven and Doug. I hear you Doug... My setup is currently limited to 10 min exposures on a good day, 5 min is about the norm.:eyepop: Short of getting a QHY 8 or moving to a dark sky site there is not much more I can do. When I have more free time to myself I will get myself to Heathcote for some imaging.:)
