hi everyone,

here is our first galaxy-image from Tao remote-observatory.
http://www.stargazer-observatory.com/TAO_01.html

ngc 660 is a pretty interesting and beautiful galaxy, so we decided to collect deep data: roughly 50 hours total exp. L and RGB equal. amazingly enough we have found far more than 100 background galaxies (-:

again - it is my 9" TMB folded apo, that invariably proofs to be a powerful partner in deep sky imaging, I'd say (-:
Also, Immo has invested some good money to install another mighty partner in our remote obs, as the
10 micron 2000 was turned in in favour for the 4000. this super-heavy duty mount performs constantly reliable - tracking accuracy is about 0.3 arc seconds,...depending on seeing of course.

please find time to check the data on the image:

also - please find time to check out the different versions of the images indicated on the
660-subpage:

thanks for looking guys!

Dietmar,

Wow! Absolute magic. 50 hours is no small feat. And, just look at those perfectly shaped and coloured stars.

Bravo, my friend!

Humayun

Magnificent, and you could spend half an hour just looking for all the background galaxies that pop into view in the full sized image!

:eyepop: Amazing pictures. That looks like a HST deep shot. So much faint fuzzies to fish around, and a great galaxy in the middle. Superb work as always and a fitting tribute.

Dietmar this is a superb image, so much detail and so much colour, it is very clear what the shape of the galaxy is too, very 3D.

I like how you have presented the selection of background galaxy crops too

50 hrs :eyepop:.....Awesome work

Boy I wish I had an observatory

I have already commented on SCP about this image, but it really is worth reiterating that the image is spectacular. Wonderfully rendered and presented. Something to aspire to acheiving.
