That is the first time I have seen footage like this, truely amazing views.

Curious what happens to the tank, see it floating away thought would see that fall.

If you use Firefox you can download it. You just need to install the Addon Download Helper and you can then download most video's that are played in a browser. Ive already downloaded it.

Stan,

Cheers for that. In my spare time, I waste my data allowance on YouTube watching these types of videos.

A couple of days after each Shuttle launch, the NASATV channel on YouTube puts a 50-odd minute video up which showcases the launch from each of the cameras attached to the solid rocket boosters.

This video you've posted shows even more amazing angles.

I wish to see the entirety of the video from the external tank -- I want to see it burn up on re-entry!

I can't believe they're going to retire the fleet next year. The most complex machine ever built, and, look at it -- it is beautiful.

Regards,
Humayun

The external tank does about a 3/4 orbit and burns up over the Pacific

Fantastically engrossing video! And combined with the music, it's downright moving! Worth every bit, byte, kilobyte and megabyte!

This vid is phenomenal. Just way phenomenal.

Me too....I've often wondered where it burns up and re-enters. Because the shuttle follows the tank, would you think the shuttle crew ever get to see it burn up? Maybe too busy?

63 odd days till the next flight! And boy I'm counting them down. :D

I don't think there are many available images of external tank re-entry. Found these:-
