Turned out to be a very good night/morning with seeing 8/10.
This photo is one of my typical kodak P&S shots...Best I can do really.

I'm a bit dissapointed I can't get any better with this camera really. But one can't expect toucam quality pics out of a point & shoot easyshare I guess.
I'll be nipping that problem in the bud real soon though.
Ta for the nice comments..

Pretty darn good for the P&S then.
Get the ToUcam thing going, and be prepared to go back a few steps before you go forward.

You've inspired me to turn my humble outfit "marswards" tonight and try and capture the red fella while he's still a decent size.
I've been building up to it all week, what with moon and venus pix.
That's a great pic and an example of what's possible even with modest gear. Well done mate. As fringe_dweller points out, you've probably gotten everything out of that little kodak you're gonna get.:)
Mate, you've sure squeeeeezed out a lot of detail.
Well done Asi.

Not very often I get good seeing conditions here, I've seen 9.5/10 once in 8 years I think. If I could just get one night like that again.. That's the only thing holding me back from getting better images. Apart from being a n00b at stacking/processing so no doubt that's holding the show up a bit too. That will come in time though.
Yep Kearn, stacked (about 450 frames from memory) with another 1/2 dozen AVIs to sort through yet.
What camera/setup do you use again Matt?
Thanks guys.

I'm using a Skywatcher 8 inch (f5) with a Sony Cybershot afocal.
It's a 4.1mp digital camera almost the same as Mike's (iceman).
Certainly no more advanced than your setup?
I'll probably struggle to get the same image scale as you've achieved using an f5 scope but I'll give it a go.

I use an F8 150mm achro. refractor most times these days due to it's quick setup/pull down in this unpredictable weather at the moment. Soon I'll get the chance to setup up the 12.5" newt.
I was looking at a sony cybershot only yesterday actually. Nice camera. Good luck Matt with capturing mars! I'm sure you'll pull off a good image/s.
