After reading UniPol's post on 16-10-2009 I decided to purchase a William Optics FLT-132 via eBay, just as he did.
All worked out without a hitch, same price( $US3198), got the same focuser ($US500 for the FeatherTouch)and a diagonal as well.
All delivered to my door in 8 days.
Only one small problem :(. My wife says " That's your christmas present. You can't open it till then." The package is almost unmarked so I am assuming every thing inside will be OK. Long wait though.
Sorry, but it looks like bad weather for Sydney over the Christmas holidays.

Congrats Greg! Remember to post piccies. Will it help if I plead with your wife to let you open it early (prolly not!).

Congrats, it is a great scope, albeit a beast to heave about, but wonderful for imaging in my case. The Feather Touch is wonderful, really wonderful.
I have mine for sale on a local auction at the moment.
Mind you, it could be the only way soon to buy the likes of this, as if I was a W/O dealer, and confronted with this sort of trading I would be looking to suggest they sell all their products this way.

Love your work guys ;). But, and it's a big but, What about the time in the near future when I mention that SBIG camera that would go well with the FLT-132. Doing what SHMBO wants now will maybe pay off in the future. I'll keep you all informed.

Hi Greg,

I just noticed your post re: the FLT132, congratulations, I'm glad everything went smoothly with the purchase, it is certainly a great deal. The weather has been so poor recently I haven't had much of a chance to use mine.

As you can't open yours till Xmas I thought I would take a pic of the superb Feather Touch focuser for you to drool over. I added the WO Flattener 68, WO 4" Extender and T-Adaptor in the photo to show how impressive it is. I even purchased the SBig STL-11000M-C2/Flattener 68 adaptor just in case I win Lotto, the STL-11000M-C2 is a mere $8800 AUS all up at the moment thanks to our strong dollar .

Cheers,

Steve

You could find a better deal than that on the STL11000M C2 if you look around... Pretty sure I've seen them advertised recently as low as $5900USD... :D

Back on topic...
Greg, there is a fine line between pleasure and pain. It would seem you have a full month worth of pain ahead of you, then, in the blink of an eye, the calander switches from 24/12/09 to 25/12/09 and the pleasure begins...

I know for certain, there is - No - way that anyone could get between me and a brand spankin new telescope... especially not for a whole month! :)

If I were you I'd have a late one christmas eve... as soon as the clock strikes 12, unwrap that bad boy, run it outside to the mount (which is already set up in preparation) wack it on and have a good long play till dawn! :)

Only another $8800 Steve. My birthday is in January . Maybe I shouldn't push my luck too far. I also included the WO UWA 28, 16 and 7 eyepieces as they seem to have good reviews. Roll on boxing day.
