I've seen some big ones before but nothing like that....would be good to see. Or better still, find some fragments.

A few years back, driving back from SPSP, it was 4PM as we approached
Galston in Northern Sydney and Mai and I spotted a bright bolide.
Mark Suching was also driving back at the same time and was apparently
not far from where we were and spotted it as well. If it had been at night,
I wouldn't have been surprised if it had lit up Sydney as if it were daytime.

I have only ever seen 2 meteors in my lifetime that lit up the ground!

I haven't seen many but I did see two in one night - in the same part of the sky (low in the north traveling w -> e) and traveling in the same direction, so obviously related. I had my back to the first one but saw the car light up and had time to turn around and see it for some seconds. When we saw the second one 15-30 minutes later we had time for a short conversation before it faded. That was in '85 about 20-30km west of Alice.
