Does anyone have a G11 or Titan sitting around doing nothing,

I want a G11...I'm dreaming about the Titan

Must have precission worm and gearing...very very good condition.

I dont really need the tripod but will consider.

Gemini optional.

PM me.

Hey Tony ! I've got a G11 thats been sitting around doing nothing for six weeks now ,but you can't have It ! ok I'll give you some info, Telescopes & Astronomy sells them for $3630.00 au brand new + postage to Sydney was $95.00 . When I was looking on Astromart for one I couldn't get a second hand one for that price. oh yes just remembed, all the new mounts have the precission worm now.

l'm assuming $3630.00 was without Gemini Louie.

You know Tony, you should try for a Titan ! you already have a EQ6 so I don't see the point in buying another mount with the same capasity.

What about this one, soon to be released by Anssen Technologies.
http://www.anssentechnologies.com.au/New_German_Equatorial_Mount.html
I have tried emaling them for details but no response.
It supposed to have a portable version and will carry more weight than a Titan.
I wonder what the price will be?

Also this GM200 has been on Astromart for some time
http://www.astromart.com/classifieds/details.asp?classified_id=298311

A friend of mine also has a GM200 that he wants to sell way out of my price range and not very portable. The problem with these older Losmandy's is from what i understand no Dec motor and no Goto Option.

Sounds intersting Andrew.

I wish they had more info....

Made in Australia could be it's downfall....either it's way to expensive or it's useless....lets hope they make a nice mount at a nice price.

Hmm that signature of min has to change, I have a n Andrew's Communications dob. But I am not Andrew..

Sad is it not that we Aussies have become a conssumer nation, our insitance on overseas purchase has caused all the local prices to go up to survive.

Made a mistake, spoke with my mate the GM-200 has a DEC and RA motor. Howeve it has a DEC Tangent Arm assembly whihc means it only gives 16 or 30 degree dec movement. Though this type of Tangent assembly is very accurate for Astrophotography, it does not lend itself to Goto. The new Titatn and GM 11 and 8 have a DEC assembly that has full 360 degree motion, hence goto is easily possible using the Gemini system. The mount can handle about 160 pounds of weight.
A solid mount and if i had the cash i would get it, though its more of an observatory mount than a portable setup. Though that may depend on how fit you are.
