If anyone is looking for information about a particular variable? I have found a online database of the 1980s edition of the Moscow Variable Star Catalouge. Its has 2000.0 RA coordinates and spectrum, period, minimum, maximum and the type of variable for each star. This website gives links to various parts of the catalouge and it even has extra-galactic variables database.

A more recent version is at the CDS, which is about six months more advanced. The Russian site is apparently a little slow with the updates. Don't know why, but it is. I think the CDS add the circulars to the catalogue immediately on release, while the Russian one still has them as separate. This has been the same issue for a while.
The CDS Version is at; http://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/Cat?B/gcvs
Anyway, thanks for the link, it is useful to have recent versions.(Just which they number them so we know which one used is the most up to date - just like software upgrades. Perhaps bugging the IAU local representation in the relevant commissions might be the only way to do it.)
Cheers
