Tis' a bit rainy of late, surprise surprise. Decided to make the most of it.
I need to buy some colourful flowers, to get refractions of in the drops next time. Alas my garden has very few flowers at the moment.
I hope to do some decent refraction shots soon.
Thanks for looking. :)

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! :)
I bought some plants with flowers on them today. Hopefully if I can build my new lighting system by tonight, I should get some good refractions.
I am alil' bit lost though. In order to get a good refraction / DOF, I would need to focus stack yeah? But obviously a tripod makes it hard / impossible to move in and out to focus. So how do you macro focus stack free hand? Surely free hand movement, would ruin chances of good frames / stackable ones... I'm lost...
Do you need a rail to focus stack?
Perhaps google will be my friend... :)
Edit~ Ok, now I get it, doesn't matter about free hand frame shake / movement. The current programs like combineZM align the images for you. Tops!!

Thanks marc!!
I hope to get better, I think I have the focus stacking almost down now. Should lead to some better shots. Especially with my Fauna work.

Great shots Mitch,
Maybe just a suggestion, try and open up the depth of field a bit ( i think thats the right term ) might bring a bit more into focus, im still on a steep learning curve myself but its great fun. Just running some star trail shots at the moment so will see what comes of that. Keep em coming
Cheers

Any recommendations on increasing DoF? I am using a reversed 50mm lens on a 50mm. When I increase the F value I don't see a DoF increase. If I zoom, the 50mm attached to the camera out, I get more DoF yet a smaller image. I guess it is a trade off of the two... :confused2:

mmmm, two lenses, not too sure on that one, all ive been doing is using my 18 - 55 mm lens zoom right out to 55 and use an f# of 16 or higher. This should bring more into focus and the images should be sharper ? just slow your shutter speed down to get the right exp. When i zoom in i can still focus at very close levels to the lens. See how ya go
Cheers
