My Losmandy G11 is here. So probably this is the last set of stacked images from EQ6 on Horsehead in RGB. Little processing done to fix halo as I intend to add more data to this first.
TSA 102, ED80
QHY8, OSSAG
EQ6 with EQMod
11x 300s Light frame. Dark, Flat, Bias corrected and processed in Photoshop after initial processing in CCDstack.
Nice work Sad. A fitting image for the "decommissioning" of the EQ6. I suspect the G11 will be up and running in no time with all the clear nights in Melb of late. I note the red channel dominates this image. You may see an improvement if you try a s-curve to give the channel more contrast, then slightly drop the green channel as shown. Give it a try and see what you think.
Looking forward to seeing your progress with the new mount.

Thank you Jase, I quickly tried with what you suggested definitely gave me a much better result. Thank you for showing me.
Thank you Frank
Thank you Alex. Unfortunately sky background ADU from my backyard went up a fair bit over last few year :(. Ideal exposure calculator (http://starizona.com/acb/ccd/calc_ideal.aspx) suggests me to keep my exposures with in 3 mins. Last few session i been trying to experiment a bit on different exposure length to compare my results. I still think i did get better result with longer subs.

I did 12x600 sec on the same target last night with a QHY8 and got a noisy and bleak image. It leads me to ask what Gain and Offset you were using for this image. As an experiment, I had run last night's subs at 1/65 instead of the 1/110 that Nebulosity defaults to.

I use 1/57 in nebulosity.

Haven't yet made up my mind yet. G11 is kinda heavy to set up all the time where Eq6 is probably just ok.
One part says sell it and buy a lighter mount purely for visual. Another part says keep it given that the PE is a much better compared to average out of box EQ6.
hmm tough decision ahead :-s
