View Full Version here: : Mars, Nov 10
The seeing this morning was dismal, but with 3 minutes of recorded video using an IR 740nm filter there was some detail to be seen.

Some lovely detail in that image Anthony. At approx 8 arc secs this is between 1/5 to 1/6 angular size of Jupiter.
Cheers

Nice work Bird.
I've been trying to nail Mars but the weather is not cooperating:confuse3:

Looking good Anthony,
Sure is pretty amazing just how well Mars responds to imaging in IR.
Top effort, well, I expected no less from you.
Regards
Trevor
Thanks All, Trevor Mars is only just peeking above the northern wall of my obs, the walls are 2.5m high to help block out the wind...

Great work Anthony. Good detail and contrast there.

Well done.

That's great detail especially for poor seeing!
Al.
Thanks for the kind words all. I'm looking forward to better seeing and images as Mars get closer to opposition. And there's always Saturn just about visible again pre-dawn :-)
cheers, Bird
