With the weather report predicting five nights clear in a row with some moon in Melbourne. Thought I would set up the Skywatcher 150mm F5 Achro.

Canon 5DH. Skywacher 150mm F5 with Hutech FR/FF so FL is 640mm and f/4.25. Astronomik 13nm HA and O3 NB filters.

Exposures 20x(2m, 4m and 8m) at 1600 ISO for both HA and O3.
Mapped Ha to red, O3 green to green and O3 blue to blue. All done in HDR.

Large image 5.4MB

The FR/FF spacing ring needs a tweak from standard to flatten the field better.

Super image Bert !
This would be by far the best deep Achromat shot I have seen. This is exactly what I aspire to do.

Achro's are awesome with narrowband filters... I often wish I still had my 6" F/8 achro for narrowband work... IT could have been quite nice indeed..

I really love the detail and colour Bert, and the FOV is definitely very pleasing... Must be a nice change from the 300mm you regularly image at! :)

Great work...

Stunning details Bert. With more clear skies predicted, perhaps you could extend the fov.

You pick up a wide field with the acro Bert. There is so much stuff in that area huh?
