Hi guys,

I was just flicking through the ads in the December issue of Sky & Telescope (US version) and there is an ad from Hotech with a new method of collimating a cassegrain type scope using a laser. I purchased one of their new self centering lasers, but it really doesn't work for an SCT very well. This appears to be something different with alignment being performed with the target just a metre from the scope. I thought I would just point it out to anyone who may be interested in the concept etc.

That product looks very interesting. I collimated my scope but I was still not 100% happy with it.
Waiting for half decent seeing is a pain. This product maybe the answer.

Hopefully some write ups on CN will see if this is a wise investment.

Trevor how is the C11 going?

I'm curious about specular reflections when using this. I guess I'll have to see a video of it in action.

The C11 is going great, one day I must find the time to look through it myself! Every time I have had it out this year it has been for a public viewing. The only time I look through it is to align the computer or to check the target hasn't drifted too far off centre.
