View Full Version here: : mercury and venus from snake valley
Finishing off the data I brought back from Snake Valley...
Mercury was poorly placed, and the thermal variations were so severe that it sometimes disappeared completely in the raw frames.
Venus was better.

Great images Bird.
Venus is amazing. That's as sharp as any image I've seen.
It's got a real 3D ... "liquid" smoothness to it.
It almost looks computer generated. Almost:P

Bird,
Absolutely stunning images, especially for the Venus. Seemed Snake Valley is a dream place for planetary imaging.
Would try to use a UV pass filter to catch cloud structure on Venus?
LT
LT, I may try something like that, but I don't have a uv-pass filter. I might buy one and try on venus again when it's in the pre-dawn sky in a few months when I might get some steady seeing.
