... by what my 5D Mark II can pull off.
I'm already in awe of what it does for landscapes, but, take this candid photograph from a recent wedding I did in Tamworth.
This is 1/60s f/8.0 ISO-2500, handheld under natural light -- no external speedlights or strobes. ISO-2500. Only a couple of years ago this would not have been possible.
Canon's latest offerings are superb in terms of image quality and the lack of high ISO noise.
Slightly higher resolution available here (http://scratch.hqphotography.com.au/sp.html).

I can only dream of getting one. Wonderful results.

yeah, high ISO is pretty amazing, although I notice a softening or and blotchiness at 100% to be honest (check out the many ISO 6400 1D Mark IV shots available and you'll see what I mean). Still, ISO 6400 is very clean now on the new range of cameras and highly usable.

Thanks, Troy.
Dave, I never shoot at ISO-6400. Also, I think it would be still be a little unreasonable (read: a little early in the evolution of the technology) to expect ISO-100 to ISO-800 quality from ISO-6400 at 100%. Maybe, one day!
I will, however, post some ISO-3200 samples for you, when I get the chance.
All in all, this camera does for me what my earlier bodies couldn't. And, I am so thankful for that.

Humayun

Stunning shots, H.
Good lens, too! :)

I'm interested in ISO6400 because it means I can shoot macro natural light and still retain reasonable DOF. ISO 3200 doesn't quite give that to me (need that extra stop!).
Dave
they look great! i really need to save up for a better body.
while people say to not pixel peep, i really like to see a 100% crop of a noisy area on one of these shots. :)
Top Shot H, I am with you mate, "Cannon is Good"
