what are your thoughts on a QHY-6 (http://web.aanet.com.au/gama/QHY6.html) for imaging and a QHY-5 for guiding setup? anyone have any images from the QHY-6?

Personally, i prefer the ICX-285 CCD sensor. Second hand, they are going cheap in some models.

Take your time, and dont concentrate on just one camera. There are many out there with good overall performance..

You can always revert back to your original plan if you cant find anything else for a bargain.
