Not sure about this image myself. It is a combine of 30 X 2 minute exposures taken with QHY8OSC and Tak FSQ106ED.

Feel ree to comment both good and bad as I am not sure about this one.

Hi Doug,

Lovely smooth background and pinpoint stars.

However (there's always one, isn't there?!) the core looks like it's overcooked; there is a very abrupt shift from yellow/gold to white going inwards. May need to apply some logarithmic stretching and re-layer the core over the main image?

Regards,
Humayun

Thanks H, a hard one to capture without burning the core, particularly at this focal length.

Nice capture Doug.

Does the full res image appear on your website?

Very well resolved till almost into the core :)
There are some compression artifacts in the faintest stars so they look a bit blurry, a pity we cant post original sizes :P

Nice capture Doug, not an easy target to get right to the corner, did well.

Nice image, Doug. I agree with H...the core looks a little overcooked, but other than that it's a good piccie:D

Just needs more exposure and some layering Doug.. 10x10min subs to bring out the extension of the cluster, and the 30x2min subs to tame down the core would have been nice... The star colours seem a little desaturated too..

As others have said, great smooth background, focus is sharp as a tac (sic)(pun intended) and it is pleasing to view...

Alex.

I also think that this is a great shot although a bit bright at the core. It has great luminosity. Very pretty.
