I'm 21, that's close enough isnt it lol
I actually get asked for IDs at the bottle shop more now than when I was 18 even though I now sport a rugged manly beard and mo which all the cute chicks on the choo choo train seem to dig :party:Come to think of it, it's always the ladies at teh checkouts which always ask for ID...Hmmmmm
Yeah I'm totz attractive.

The great thing about the lower number of young astronomers is that getting in to astronomy at uni is easier as there is a lower minium percentage in the TEE scores during year 12. With the SKA around the corner I think it would be a great area to get into.

I know a lot of astronomers who regret not taking up astronomy when they were older. Is this true? I look forward to many years in IIS and with my astro-club.

I don't think I would have taken up astronomy as my career, BUT I wish I'd got involved as a hobby before I was in my 50s. Now I want to look, I realise that my eyesight is not what it was

Yes, but not for another 30 years. Hit 50 and everything falls apart!

I wish I'd taken up Astronomy 30 yrs ago. Imagine how much more experienced I'd be now. Think of all the things I've missed out on.
But it's better late than never eh.

Eh.. easy, Erick, it is not quite so.
We over 50 are just matured.. like good cheese.. or good wine.. older, the better :P

I really glad I did get into it early, about 14. Although the equipment was more expensive and less good there was far less light pollution and I had EYES. (No computers to ruin young eyes then.) I could see the shape of the Orion Neb naked eye, Omega Cent was a cotton ball and I could see more Pleiadies than anyone I knew. Alas my eyes have 'matured' to merely average and all-night observing sessions knock the stuffing out of me.
I've had time to go from interested to fanatical to too busy to interested again to jaded to getting back into it and joining IIS.
