Time to say goodbye to this lovely active region. Nice seeing this afternoon despite some very high cloud.

Love that textured look, that goes missing when just using something like Badder film.

Very 3D Paul it almost seems like its going to fall off the edge of the disc.
I would advise getting a Herschel wedge for white light. I use a Baader one and find it excellent.
Trevor with something like Baader film youre looking at the visible surface of the Sun called the Photosphere. In Hydrogen Alpha youre seeing a layer above that called the chromosphere, thats where the real action takes place.
