Hi,

I have had another go at some data from July this year. I hope it shows alright as when I view some images on my desktop after processing on my laptop I'm disappointed in the way they look. What looks good on my laptop looks blotchy with red tinges on y desktop. Anyway here goes.

10 x 5 minute lights with darks but no flats. Iso 800 Canon 400d unmod. Scope - W/O Flt 110. The final image has been slightly cropped.

Any feedback always welcome.

Thanks

Mark :)

Good going Mark.

The image shows a fair bit of compression artefacts, however the detail is good... Colour wise, its a little desaturated.. I have the exact opposite problem processing on my laptop, colours look bland on my laptop, so I tend to boost them heaps to get them looking right, then when viewed on my desktop they are oversaturated to high hell, and the image is always horribly over stretched..

The data looks great though, I would definitely have another go at this on your desktop mate!

Oh, the diffraction spikes.. well.. You have a really nice refractor, capable of images with brilliant, round stars.. don't ruin that with diffraction spikes :) (Personal Preference... )

Thanks Alex. I admit I am a little diffraction spiked out and I think definately the novelty has warn off. Adam and I can't wait to get to another dark site.
