Unkown Object

can anyone give me some idea of what this may be. have pics from before and after in different areas of the sky and this is the only time it showed up so l am assuming it is not dust or a blemish on any glass. taken with 125mm f/2 lens and LPS filter.

sorry Dave, about half way between Achenar and Canopus, maybe slightly East of the two, l was testing guiding and not really imaging anything.

For some reason I can't upload the image, but just enlarged it and bang, out pop the stars in your image, which for some reason aren't displayed in the pic you posted.

Once the stars come out, it's somewhat clearer that all these objects in your original pic are straight off your objective lens.

I'll see if I can PM you the pic i've played with.

Was going to say its the Cartwheel galaxy as its starting to come into peak imaging, alas at 125mm F/2 lens, the image scale doesn't compute given the small angular size of the galaxy. Its got me beat :shrug:

Maybe an odd reflection from one of the bright stars out of the FOV? Reflections can looks similar to this.
