:eyepop: :scared:  :family2: :family:
Our first. I'm too excited to not tell everyone, even though it's probably a week or 2 before we should be announcing.
And something that may or may not be of interest to IIS members... the day of consummation. :scared3:
I was at Astrofest (no, Kristy was not there with me), but I got a text message saying "Need you home, I'm ovulating". Haha. I was leaving that day (the Saturday) anyway, but how's that for some incentive to drive home fast! :)
So I guess in a way, it's going to be an astro-baby!

Too much information :scared:
And telescopes are cheaper, financially and emotionally :help:
But, too late, the deed is done and I hope all goes well through to a lovely child for you both to hold and adore. Next stage in life, Troy!
And in future you'll hear such lovely words from your children as my daughter emailed to me this morning:- "Dad, can you redeem some of your rewards points for this nice camera for me?" :D

Better hope they don't detect three beating hearts! :eyepop:
Congrats to you and Kristy.
You'll have to make sure your scope is permanently setup for all those late nights with the baby.

Believe me Chris, similar to a new Tak, but without the mess, AND if you tire of it you can sell it off without raising the ire of the humanitarian groups.

Sorry Troy, congrats on the new little piggy.
Troy,
A life-changing event. Lots of joy!
All the best, Rob.

Thanks again, all. At 38, I'm not the youngest first-time dad ever, but still fairly young at heart. My brother only recently had his first too. You can just see how happy they are.

Good for you Mate! Congrats. You'll never look back.
Now all your astro toys are gonna have to go... sorry ;)
You're going to spend a fortune in nappies... but look on the bright side.
You'll be kept up all night anyway so more observing time for you. :)

Ha! I keep joking that I'm going to have multiple strobes and the macro lenses out during the birth. That didn't go down too well...

Make sure you take some photos during the pregnancy too.
It's amazing how much your body changes over the months.
Having a belly full of arms and legs is a truly awesome experience.:D

Congrat man!!! you'll learn a love you never thought you had.
I remember when I first became aware I was going to be a dad. It was
fantastic up until about the last week prior to arrival. Then it was FREAK
OUT!!!! you ask yourself will it be this will it be that... even more
important will I be a good dad...blah...blah...blah... then like someone
above mentioned you'll find yourself 10 months in and your a pro lol
Congrats again, it's an amazing trip your about to take!! G'luck and have
fun. My tip, kids are never annoying or nagging... not if your more
annoying and nagging than them ;):P
Cheers,CS

Kids are good value, especially when they do goofy stuff :D
If anyone, however, wants a charming 6 year old girl I have one... will trade a C11 for her ;)

Hi Troy & Kristy, :)
Congratulations. Before I became a Dad, I thought kids were okay. Tolerated them. Didn't want to have much to do with them. Then my first arrived. Your own flesh and blood is so very special to you.
You both are about to experience that and then there will be the years ahead to watch the little one grow. Their first roll, first sit up, first step, first word. Its all special being a parent.
I wish you both well and that all goes well.
Cheers Marty

Oh, what wonderful news! A brand new baby on its way! I still love that brand new baby smell!
:D:thumbsup::party::clap::love2::lo ve:
My only word of advise: if you do drop the baby, MAKE SURE that mum is not around. You really, really don't want her to know!
Congrats Troy. Get all your astro toys now while you still can! :)

Congratulations Troy & Kristy. Before you know it they will become part of your (astronomical) adventures away from home (Leyburn, Astrofest etc). Start at about 5yrs by telling the missus that you are taking them for a weekend nature adventure/camp....only once a month, no Moon. Lots of sunshine, cows in paddocks, fresh air the whole father son/daughter bonding routine thing. You will get away with this until they are about 15yrs old (I did).
