Hi All, :)

Some one has gone and flashed the plastic for some new toys.

Brisbane's forecast is:
Sunday storm;
Monday rain;
Tuesday and Wednesday showers.:D

We do need it but flashing the card that much is overkill.

'fess up whoever it is.

jjj was it you again?

Cheers Marty

How'd you know Marty?:)
I take full responsibility for any light cloud.
But it's Paul's purchase that's attracting the storms. :cloudy:

When you get right down to the nitty gritty of it though, taking it right back to the source. It's Gary Beals fault.
He's the one that sold the stuff to us.:P

Wow, that would make a change NZ sending clouds to Oz!

What the? I checked this morning before coming to work and it was fine and clear til next Tuesday. Handed over the powermate I sold to Greg "gjelke" this morning, and now the clouds roll in. We joked about it at the time, but it's not funny now...

Fair dinkum, there has to be something to this phenomenon don't you think?

That’s alright, I won’t complain because of the Caravan and Camping shows that’s on at the RNA showgrounds this weekend for some reason they have two huge spot lights pointing right at our apartment.

Hi jjj & All, :)

I knew it, I knew it. Someone was responsible. Just how much will be interesting.

I've got a new swimming pool going in and don't want a lot of rain.:mad2:

Cheers Marty

Sorry to hear you weekend has been ruined (well degraded at least). There really should be something you can do about that. Forget astronomy for the moment - what about quality of life and health? Perhaps a low-key approach to the organisers (hey mate could you point them somewhere else?) followed by a complaint to council. It wouldn't change what happens this weekend but perhaps, just perhaps things might be better in the future.

It's clear as ever outside right now but guess what.......

I have work at 6am tomorrow. Of all the Saturdays to work, it HAS to be tomorrow

If it's not clouds and food poisoning, there'll always be something else

Grab your bino's Sab and have a quick tour before bedtime.
You'll sleep all the sweeter for it.:)

I don't have binos, and my grab n go lacks a mount :( Besides the only thing I want to grab when I have to rise at 4:45am is my jammies and the only place to go is the sack

You'll have to buy some more astro gear Kev.
If we get everyone on the forum to direct deposit 50cents into your account you'd get enough to buy at least 2 weeks of rain.

Will a carton of XXXX do the job instead of buying astro gear JJJ.

Well, I'll own up:

MaximDL5
AstroPlanner
AstroPhoto Insight magazine

and a book called "Star Maps - history, artistry and cartography" by Nick Kanas (and a very nice book it is as well).

Oh, and I bought a card table for my astro setup today as well.

I'm a bad bad boy.

:hi:

I blame Gary Beal as well. With a bit of luck, all up we'll get between 5 and 8 days of rain. :P Unfortunately that will be accompanied by roughly between 3 & days either side by cloudy weather. Don't worry though, the full moons due late next week so my timing is perfect.

.... been bucketing down here today and tonight .... so much so I had to rescue my 10" OTA and put it on the work bench to save it , was standing in the garage on the floor , got drowned walking down the back in the rain to rescue it before the water got to it before the flash creek down my driveway inundated my garage floor....

BTW .... it wasn't me who flashed the plasticfantastic.

Nor was it me threatening to go and dangle a line in the water either .... that's generally certain to bring the rain and storm clouds too.

Hi Jen, :)

No, no, no! A new pool does not attract rain and clouds. Or at least the construction of it. (Does it?)

Totally unfair to shift the blame from Mr. Beal to me. Humph!!!

What do you think? Do we have the answer to finishing the drought?

I mean; if we were to aproach the government and reqested a heap of new toys at public expense, we should be able to promise some real rain.:lol:

We have the power. We'll need a spokesman like Iceman Mike to draft a letter. We can get you rain.:lol:

Cheers Marty

Sorry all perhaps it was the fact that I trundled around 3 states in the last 4 weeks travelling about 6200 km's with my 4" refractor and GEM with family and trailer in tow :)
No joke, here was the status:
- Sydney to Melbourne (AFL grand final weekend): rain, hail, wind
- On to Ballarat: cloudy
- On to Port Jarvis then Kangaroo Island, SA: cloudy, windy, rain
- On to Adelaide: cloudy, rain
- On to North Flinders Ranges: 4 clear nights around new moon :D
- On to Broken Hill: scattered cloud then rain
- And the rain followed us home to Sydney last weekend

Hi Adam, :)

You missed Brisbane. The weather gods anticipated you visiting Brisbane next.

You and Mr. Beal can share the blame. Maybe taking the heat off me.

That Green alien woman from Swan Hill keeps blaming me :mad2:when there's several others who are readily confessing.

I'm gonna' have to learn to box. (WII Style :P )
