This might be a stupid question I am known to ask a few of these.
Would this be too long for a sight scope on a 10" F5 DOB.:thanx:

Yes, I think it would be Warren. That's one in my avatar. Also, not sure how you would mount it? Maybe in the 2 ring x 3 point type holders, whatever they are called?

Is that a star diagonal in your picture erick? Attached to your galileoscope?

David, good to hear :D
If the weather in Syd holds out, I will be taking mine out for a spin and report back.

It did hold out - until sunset. Then the cloud moved in.

Attached are some instructions that we used at a "make your own" day here in Ridgefield CT...
The pictures should give you some idea about what you are getting.
I am of course assuming that these are the same units...

And it is very effective. I use a 25mm plossl so with the barlow on the diagonal I'm at 40 mag - not too much.

Will have to give it a shot, though I don't have nearly as nice EPs :)

Steve,
What's the quality like on these things?
Are they still available?

Humayun

Email Adam at the Uni. Last week it seemed there were more available. I ordered a number without any issue.
Quality is much better than one would expect for a $25 telescope. Will it rival an ED80 - nope! Will a young enthusiast have great fun building it and looking at the Moon - YES! Educational - YES!
The only hassle of significance is the slide tube focusser - but most people seem to get the hang of it. Finding Jupiter can also be challenging, but the determined will get there.
Search Youtube, this site and Cloudy Nights for info.

ps. It really needs some form of tripod to mount it - a cheapie would do.
Galileoscope.
Just so we know we're talking about the same thing... ;)
