great Shot Doug.

Goes to show how far amateur astroimaging has come over the last couple of years. Compare this shot with what Jerry Lodrigus was doing only a few years ago and even David Malins HH in The Colours of the Universe (which i know isnt fair comparing with emulsion and reduction for printing) but this far surpasses what was considered great only a few years ago. (showing my age here)

I know the equipment is great but a lot is in ability in capture and processing as well. Congratulations

Thanks everyone for the great comments. The images were taken on the Monday night. I retired at about 3:30am and left the scope imaging until I got up in the morning. I ended up with 11 images but on close inspection decided 2 were not up to the same standard as the rest so these 2 were dumped. I still have a lot to learn with the processing side of it but with this little scope I am enjoying the ride.
Thanks again.

Nailing them now Doug. The brighter stars in the scene look like they've given you a little trouble. Not easy to deal with that's for sure, but you have done well. Keep it up.

I though the dawn may have interfered. My last several dozen time lapse are pure white frames :D

I thought it was great when I saw it Tuesday morning, now that's just wrong, so much dust and detail, an exceptional image!

Thanks Jase, yes the bright stars are a bit of a bumer but I have a few ideas to work on. Any advice appreaciated.

Thanks Darren, I am pretty happy with the final result. Great meeting you and I hope you gained omething from our meeting.

Sorry you missed a great night Jen, Darren stayed up all night, I managed 3.30am because I had to drive home or it would have been all night also.
Not much to see of this one through a scope without a Hb filter.

Thanks Jeff.

Thanks Petra, I was pretty happy with this one. The skies at snake Valley are so clear it makes captue very easy.

Thanks Lucien,

Wonderful shot Doug.

Try a bit of shadows/highlights and fiddle with the highlights section and it will pull back the bright stars a little and also give back the core in that neb next to the horse.

You definitely toned alnitak down in the repro, and got rid of a few dust bunnies and the like.. but I think your colour was much better in the original... I find the original image much more pleasing in every respect..

I took another look at the image and decided it was probably a little bright and in your face so here is another Sidonio of the same image but toned down quite a bit.

Thanks David, Starting to become happier with the last repro I did. Colour is a bit more realistic when looking through the dust in this region. I would like to capture some Ha to add to this image but will wait till it is a bit higher in the sky.
