Friday night was crystal clear and dry. Kicking myself not under the IISAC dark sky.
Stayed up late to take my first guided M42 and result did not disappoint.
Canon 400d mod. prime focus ED80
3x 4.5mins ( total 13 mins) stacked in DSS with darks
IDAS filter

Nice shot Vincent. I like the colours. Although I have just managed to learn how to combine different exposures of M42 to produce a shot with the full tonal range, I still prefer the look of M42 with a bright core...it looks more "real".

That's a nice shot Vincent. Showing lots of the dusty nebulosity surrounds. Running man is looking promising as well. Needs more data, still a bit of residual noise. You know you want to!

Dave

edit: you'll probably want to shoot a few shorter subs for the core and merge them into the main shot in PS.

Great early work Vincent, can only imagine what you will get once you have some practise under your belt, look forward to it actually

I agree with Ross, even though the core is technically a bit saturated it isn't too bad really, you have the nicest looking saturated core I have seen

Nice shot, Vincent:D

Need to take some short exposures to fix that core region, but it's not too bad:D

Ole Running Man's got his bling shoes on there:D

Looks good:D
