After a long break due to a combination of work and poor weather the skies finally cleared last night and so here is an image from around 9.30pm.

cheers, Bird

Edit: Reduced maximum brightness in the image to be nice to laptops that can't display bright images without maxing out.

Whoa ! Detail plus. You are really getting the processing nailed without an over sharpened look. Beautiful Anthony.
This is just how I saw it last night (but not with that detail)

Your are definitely the man, what a lovely image.
Really excellent detail, love the level of processing, a truly masterful effort.

Wow:eyepop: there is detail on the moon. After getting a 12" I have learnt to fully appreciate these images as seeing detail like this with a 4mm EP is impossible even with great seeing. What is the magnification of your barlow?

Another great image Anthony!

Great work mate!

Post edited, need to learn to swivel head on to my monitor, the flatscreen gives an over exposed image from an angle.

Wow, that's brilliant! One of the best I've seen in a while. Very smooth and natural processing, but heaps of detail.

Well done.

Mitchell - it must be your monitor. It's not blown out on my laptop screen, which usually renders things brighter than my other monitor.

Careful, Mitchell!!!

But yes. The appearance of some images might look bright/dark depending on the variation between your laptop settings and those of the source image.

You can download the image and take it into photoshop if you want to see whether it's 'blown out' or not. Open the image and then hover your mouse over an area you suspect is overcooked. As you move your cursor, you'll get some readouts over at the right if you've got the histogram pane open.

Yeah, it depends on how your monitor handles brightness up close to the maximum. Might be worth checking to see if your monitor is calibrated, and maybe adjust the brightness or contast.

On my display (Dell 24" lcd) the image is fine, and no part of it is overexposed. Some laptops are very bad at this.

Fabulous, image and something to aspire to although my 10" and 2x aren't getting me there at the moment.

Well Anthony, a definite improvement, looks crisper.

Hang on, I don't believe I just said that.

When I looked at the original version I thought it would be very hard to top, but this version is even better.

Stunning
Cheers

Hows the seeing going? We had immaculate conditions in Peth last night.

seeing is bad here at the moment, it's still 17C, far too warm for good seeing around here...

I'll go back and have another look in a while, but it's a blurry mess right now.

That last image Anthony is in a class of its own, oozing detail and so smooth.

All the best.

Superb image Anthony. It has been your year this year. So much detail and very smooth. I have all but given up, the seeing is better now but I would need to drag the scope down to the house as the neighbours tree is in the way again. Keep up the lovely images. At least I can view vicariously.
