Hi all,

last night was my second attempt at this object, it rises to 20 degrees max in the north. I only managed 1 x 10 minute exposure at ISO 1600, before the side of the observatory started to get in the way. The night before I tried 10 minute exposures at ISO 800 and could hardly see the fainter areas of this object.

I am keen to try it with a 200 mm lens to get it all in the FOV. This image is with the Astrograph, and I am not sure how much of the Veil is outside its FOV.

Nice Lester. More exposure time will bring out more of the fine tendrills of this pretty nebula.

Well done Lester

At least you got it mate.

When I first built my observatory I could image these northern objects but the damn trees have grown so I miss out on this The Ring, M31, etc.

I have to decide whats easier - moving the observatory or chopping down a heap of trees.

Is this the FSQ?

Thanks for your comments Doug and Mark. Yes I hope to get more images of it, but my setup has 3 scopes side by side and the Astrograph is down very low when pointing to the north, so I only have a 1 hour window now before it gets too low. My other option is to use my 200mm Sigma lens.
