That's excellent Lester. Great data. You can run one pass of gradient Xterminator and raise the black point. It's a pearler! Just didn't want to pull a "sidonio" on you ;)

Fantastic Lester!
Those Epsilon scopes are brilliant! And you're starting to give it a good work out which is fantastic to see!

Hi Carl, Marc and Alex, thanks for your comments.
Marc will Gradient Exterminator get rid of vignetting too? Just been trying to reduce some vignetting with photoshop, without much luck.
I realise I have got a lot to learn with processing, so don't mind repros etc.

That's a nice shot, especially for 30 mins of M45 from what I've seen so far. Nice nebulosity, good sharpness. I agree that the black point could be raised a little, but it's still a very nice shot as is.

Good one Lester.
What Marc said.
Trev, you lost the detail in the neb.

Yes it does help a lot with vignetting also but the best way to do this is flat fielding. Shoot flats and you won't believe how much more data you'll get out of your hard earned subs. :)

Well, I couldn't resist having a crack, hope you don't mind...

Well done, Lester. Some nice data captured there.
And nice work on the repros, guys.

Thanks all for your comments. Looks like I need a light box for taking flats.

Flat box = 1 brocolli box, 1 pk of 2 Cold Cathode Fluro lights (22.95 jaycar) a bit of 100mph tape, some flat white card and you will have a great flatbox for stuff all :)

Lester,
well done
the second version is a great improvement
incidentally
a few of us just stretch a nice white T-Shirt over the scope and aim at the sky during the day...
of course the camera should'nt have been moved, nor the focus etc...
i use an elastic bank along the edge to remove any wrinkles
does the job for me
a light box will be best though

A wide field vista of M45 is always a pleasing view, and this rendition is no exception Lester. Well done and thanks for sharing.
