Hi All,
Just got back to Broken Hill after a couple of weeks holidaying at Hindmarsh Island, Goolwa. Had a couple of nice days in the first week out and about on our boat but the weather for the last week was foul.
Got straight back into imaging Jupiter on my first night back home, it really was great to see the stars again, I think I have gained a new appreciation of how good the night sky is out here in the outback.
I have attached two RGB images, captured in seeing 6 to 7 / 10.
In the first image there are at least 10 white ovals visible in the STrZ and South polar region. The SEB is characterized by 6 bright red spots or barges, other than the barges the SEB is very quite. The NEB displays a great deal of activity, indeed.
In the second image, oval BA is at the CM and there are 7 white ovals still visible in the STrZ and South polar region. The amount of rotation of the planet from the previous image has 4 of the red barges still visible in the SEB. There is some very nice structures in the active NEB and I have highlighted the red spot in the NNTrZ that is the result of the merger that occurred in late Sept. (I have previously posted images of the actual merger back around Sept 28th)
Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor
