hi guys

last night i finally got to try out my equipment.
as i surfed around with my 16mm nirvana EP, i saw a fuzzy, didnt know what it was, but took some pictures, unguided.
should have taken shorter exposure to minimize the trails, but it was just before it went behind a tree, so i just took a chance.
i found out later that it was c/2006 w3.

thank you guys
i was a little surprised myself, that i would find a comet i didnt know was there, just by surfing around to test the eyepiece.
hope to get a better image of it, now that i know where to look.

hi
it is the brightest object, down to the right.
i didnt have time to get set up good, as it were going behind some trees, i think i should have used shorter exposuretime, to get rid of the trails, and maybe the comet would not have been overexposed, i think it is.

Hi Alfi,

Sorry to rain on you party, but the bright object in the picture is not a magnitude 10 comet. That would be much dimmer and should show some proper motion against the stars.

The comet may well be in the image, I looked but couldn't find it, it may be too dim to be seen past the light pollution though.

Comets usually show up green in DSLR shots.

Cheers

i found some with a lot less light on the fuzzy, its only a 20sec exposure, ill try to fix it.

hi
have changed the picture now, to a cropped version of the right one, alot less magnitude on this one, and a lot more difficult to see, but it is fuzzy compared to the startrails.
again, sorry for posting the wrong picture.
