Hi,

I now tried to make some changed to my webcam driver setting, left exposure to minimum, Gamma to minimum and White balance to maximum. Please note it has been blown up by 300%

Without tracking it does create a blur but am assuming to super clear weather in Perth tonight is helping just that little more.

The bug is biting, took 10 minutes to get 900 frame video, took 1.5 hours to process and play. Love it, especially with nice cool weather. I m sure there is more that I can do, part of the learning curve and the great assistance from IIS and ASWA members.

This time in colour. :D

Edit~ I am sure you are probably at it now, but there seems to be a tad more detail in there to bring out... This is a shocking 5 minute attempt, by no means is it better than yours, just an example. Maybe I am wrong.

Actually , last night tried to use the Barlow but no way, need tracking for that. dew started shortly after and started to work on a electric focuser.

First time I have been able to even use the computer today. I'd be interested what you did on the image. I found it difficult manage colour setting but I see possibly some sharpness setting or unsharp mask.

Anyway will probably attack it later tonight although the fine weather may mean time out the back yard :D.

Mananaged to make some improvments I was following the guide http://www.iceinspace.com.au/63-306-0-0-1-0.html which made some improvments. Excellent article.

I haven't finished reading the article only following some of the proceedures to come up with the image. It has been a great learning curve.

Doin good Malcom. You can always try to track manually but that's a pain imho. Who knows you may get a feel for it.

What processing did you do? Did you use any wavelet settings. Have you tried an unsharp mask. Maybe look at the curves and levels?

With mine from the 76mm scope I used the wavelet sliders at the left of registax 5 after the stacking process to bring up some more detail. You can actually see as the changes are made when you move the sliders. Then did the do all and save image. From there I processed in Gimp, adjusted the curves and levels a lil and followed off with an unsharp mask. Word of warning, only need a low end setting there if you try that. Very easy to overdo it

I'm still only a noob at the processing myself and find google to be a good resource on the various tutorials as well, e.g. do a google on levels or curves tutorials. Or if you're more a visual person then search thru youtube for some videos on the various processes, e.g. curves, levels, wavelets, unsharp masks, etc

There is no way i will manually track, hard enough just to get the right spot. I will work on manual motorised tracking before advanced tracking.



Just tried wavelets last night after reading the article. I had placed the latest modified image. I believe the tracking is causing the slightly East West blur I have and tried some curves to reduce the blue and green blowout.
There is only two more things that i haven't done yet. Deconvolution and splitting colours. Splitting colours would make it easy to adjust the cotrast only to get greater clarity instead of saturaton. Deconvolution looks good but only know one program to use which i haven't downloaded as yet.



Google has been a great backup but Mikes article on planetary imaging has been the bees knees.

After writing the last spread I just retouched using curves more. Not bad at all, made it relatively easy.
