#3 is a nice crisp shot of a doli. Well done, they're not easy to capture.

Nice collection. Don't see many scorpion macros, esp from Aus. And very well done on the long-legged fly, as Dave mentioned they're very skittish with flash and usually get them on the edge of frame because they take off with the ETTL pre-flash.

Flash is generally a necessary evil in macro David - at least from my extensive experience. Some dolichopidae's are more tolerant than others (to the pre flash).
Dave
preflash isnt a necesary evil tho dave :) i set everything completely manually.

No, but dolis are quick enough to get out of the frame even with the main flash (and no pre flash).

Love the fly, subject and actual capture. Fantastic mate.
You didn't want to get too close to that scorpion did you mate? A bit flat and dull that last one. Give him a poke to make it interesting or change his environs.
Baz.
gave him a poke baz, but he buggered off then! :/
