A few more from tonight in Dorado.

NGC 1672 is a barred spiral with a very strong central bar.
I captured a hint of the prominent spiral arm dust lane that
shows in this Wiki /HST image:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_1672

NGC 1596 and 1602 are apparently two interacting galaxies.
NGC1596 is mag 12.1 according to Cartes and 1602, mag 13.5.

Paul Mayo's site has a good field comparison shot here:

Good work Steve!! Dim little targets indeed!

Very enjoyable to view!

Thanks Alex, yep they are pretty dim.

I redid NGC1672 and 1596 today and tried a 2x Bspline resize-process-resize back
routine.

I keep making the same mistake and doing the processing in the dark
loungeroom, 2am-ish , while very tired. :)

Not a great LCD screen environment to judge near black levels etc.

I wrote this routine down because it seemed to work a lot better than
last night's routine.

Subtracted darks.
Made Bad Pixel Map.
Subtracted BPM from lights.
Resized lights 2x Bspline.
Stacked lights.
Applied curves
Applied sharpening.
Noise reduction in Neatimage (freeware) on auto.
Resized back to 1x

Edit: btw it just occurred to me that this was about 45 deg up
and the DSI sensor was sitting on no lower than 22 deg C

Steve,

Good work and the second process brings out a lot more detail.
