Hi All,
I thought I would share this outstanding image which was posted on the SBIG list a few weeks ago. Its one of the best Orion wide field shots (8 degrees FOV) I've ever seen! It includes the Horsehead and M42 in false colour, with bi-colour processing. Now this is what I call a jaw dropper!

A mosaic of 198 shots plus some very good image processing. The original pictures were taken with either the UK Schmidt or the Oschin Schmidt on Mount Palomar.Anyone can download these images to play with. These images are monochrome taken at different wavelength ranges.Steve Cannistra has worked out a way of making false colour images from the red and the blue filtered greyscale images.

All the same though a very very good image.

I emailed Steve Cannistra to see if it was alright for me to download and put as a wallpaper, and he said ok!!!!
He had a quick browse at IIS and i also sent him a link to Birds mars and he thought that was great.
Who knows, he might join!!!!
