Buying Laser Pointers from Ebay

Apparently,

You can no longer buy laser pointers from ebay that are listed outside the country, therefore they have prevented importing of lasers.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, or the lovely LiveHelp Internet Assistance lady provided the incorrect information.

Has anyone else come across this as yet ? Or been successful very recently in buying pointers from ebay ?

Check out the Australian Customs web site. You get a list of all the restricted imports. Laser pointer over a certain power are on the list.

Bugger, didnt realise laser pointer >1mW are banned from importation unless written permission is granted. :(
