I had resently upgraded from the HEQ5 to a NEQ6. Last night I took all my gear to the ASV club house for the NAG night but had trouble aligning the scope and could not guide with a guide camera.

I played with the #$Y$^%#%# SynScan control for several hours, had a couple of hours zzzzzzz then had another go with it linked to Starry Night.

I got the same results on Starry Night as I was live, but I could now measure the result.

When atempting alignment it was at least 20 deg from the star after adjusting on to the star and moving to the next it was also 20 deg out adjusting on to star and received message alignment successful - GREAT! Then select an object - beehive - wow 30 deg away.

Dummy spit time - I updated firmware to latest 3.25, removed and reinstalled and updated all software and drivers. All looking and working fine yes? NO! Same problem.:mad2:

When in doubt read the manual - no real help.

Then I rang Bintel and explained the problem. I there was a customer in the store who had had the same problem. I was asked if I had done a "Factory Reset" - of course not :confused2:.

Scrolled through a few menus and found factory reset, which is not listed in the menu tree(manual pg 15).

Powered off/on everything.

Got back into hand control, connected to starry night, commenced alignment - alast 100% on target so well I could not find the target star as it was under the cross hair.:D

Hope this will help others.
