Yep I sure was , or rather in the early morning, gee I paid for it too was stuffed most of the day hehehe only got about 2 hours sleep.

Oh you poor boy??? but you must sleep so that you can get up and take more wonderful shots :P

BTW, from my place now I went outside and I counted the stars that I can see, 2 planets, and 22 stars. anything below mag +3 is just not viewable at all there is a vapour haze and the lights are on everywhere, including the dog track. it is horrible tonight, and it is a dark moon night too with bad weather on friday sat sunday :scared:

I have found it works better than anything I have come across so far.
Nice image for the 150k limit (hint).

Yes try the professional version does tiffs etc the free version only does jpg's,or saves to jpg's.The professional version also does batch files very handy.I actually bought it.Very happy with it.Still have to learn allit's capable of

Its also very good for terrestial pics at high ISO.

Yep I used Noiseware on the image running it once in default setting, its a great bit of software :) Gradient Xterminator is good too

Weather wasnt too bad here though was some haze in the west. I wish this horrible humidity would go though, it cant be helping sky transparancy.

Tornado did you check out the pics on the other thread about in camera noise reduction?

Yep avandonk I did, sadly my 300D doesnt do the dark subtraction and doing full subtraction in Photoshop leaves dark holes, so I set the slider usually below 50% to compromise between no dark holes and getting rid of some of the noise. In camera is the best as it is fully optomised for the camera sensor.

Thanks Scott I think we are all here to help each other.My offer of the guidescope still holds.All you need is a relay box?If you can manually guide
we can wire in the relay box! Honestly the Tal 200k is only good for visual as I can't use filters easily for astrophotography!Its got a fairly ordinary focusser and it's propriety.(ie unique)
All my images are produced in a high light pollution and air pollution site.I see all this as practice,for the real thing!Dark skies,clear seeing ...
Thanks for your images and noise reduction methods.I did hit a wall at about ISO 200, thanks to you I have progressed.

Hi Scott

I'm not convinced of this. I would much rather use an average darks made from many dark frames. Also if you use it, it will take twice as long to collect your lights. I know the point is moot as we both have 300D's without the feature!

Very nice Scott...
Noiseware is good, but use with caution. I prefer Scott's original. More detail and better for supernova hunting. Have you blinked this image Scott?
