With the moon getting more in the way of late, it seemed like a good time to cross this off my list of things to try out.
Seeing was pretty terrible, but I persevered for 35mins to see what I could do. Pretty happy for my first try. Io visible in frames too. Has whet my appetite to do a longer capture when weather and moons/GRS favourable. Actually, playing with Starry Night, I'm surprised how fiddley it is to find a good time to capture a transiting moon and the GRS - all part of my education I guess.

65sec AVIs every 5mins using ToUcam + 2 x 2x barlows on 8" Newt. Stacked in Registax 5 and animated in Imageready.

You've gotta be happy with that for a first effort Rob.
Pity about the seeing though.

Thanks Ron and Jeanette!
Catching up with both of you here is at least some compensation for not being at Cambroon together on a dark new moon night..... :)

Are you going to 10 Chain Hill Rob?

I've got my leave pass stamped and planning to try JJJ. Long range forecast looking pretty grim though :(

I'd love to get a good night in at Peter's.

Thanks Marc and David :)

For next time, I'm thinking I might lock my autoguider on to Callisto (slowest moving moon), then leave things go unattended for a few hours (checking focus periodically along the way). K3CCDTools has a nice timed AVI capture mode....
