These pics were taken on the Sunshine Coast QLD,near Marcoola

the beach area has a very large are behind it with lots of dunes, banksia

and wattle,she-oak trees etc,It was a great place for birding,i was suprised with what i was able to observe and take resonable pics of.

The Sunshine Coast Airport was situated close by,every time a large plane took off,the birds would watch it,it was amazing to look at the expressions on their little faces,I soon took advantage,as when they watched planes,i could move in just that bit closer.

This forest kingfisher was a real bonus, haven'nt seen one for years.
Very difficult to get close to! I used 400mm L,no tripod-leaning against
an old she-oak,No PPP.just cropped and reduced to upload.

Hope these are of interest.

regards Chris

Chris - another fine series of bird images. You're working magical images with that 400mm lens! The last shot is the keeper for me as the black feathered area on the head is more discernible from the background.

nice find chris! have yet to find any kingfishers near home.

if you are close enough try using a flash to fill the dark areas :)
