Was at the Sunshine Coast, took these pics of this lovely little kite,

It was rather windy!,and i didnt have a tripod, and i had just been swimming for half an hour.

I wasnt going to try,but i am glad i did,taken with the 400mm prime L

Not sure about these birds with pure white, too low speed makes it bright

too higher speed, tones it down, the darker feathers then seem too dark.

So any short falls in these pics, due to operator error, not the gear.

I was pleased to get good detail of beak, eye, talon.

Very good series of shots Chris. It's been years since I've seen one of these beautiful birds. I'm envious!

Lovely photos Chris – that 400mm F5.6L sure is sharp, not withstanding your obvious talent!

You’ve done very well to show a nice tonal range of the Kite, given the B&W tones of the bird against a bright blue sky.

Cheers

Thanks for the feed back Dennis,Ving,David etc

I ended up with about two dozen of this calibre.

I have some more bird pics from this beach sand dune area

that had lots of banskia bushes.i may post them if there are

a few people interested in having a look at more bird pics

 Great captures, very nice sharp detail good effort handheld.....very envious I'm working in an area rich in bird species particularly birds of prey but its been frustrating getting within range for a decent shot :P

Yep. Fine images there Chris. I like the stark blue back ground.
