I reckon that's why the sausages on the BBQ took less than usual to cook lunchtime... and thinking about it the beer was a little warm too...

Any volunteers for a Mars trip?
They'll need a big tube of cosmic ray blocking cream. :D

The stock exchange goes up and down but that does not mean anything is actually happening.
As time goes by the finding of "energy" and stuff in "empty" space may well surprise folk... we see stars etc as points of light but it is best to perhaps see them as "bubbles" of energy of almost limitless dimention... so if you see a star 5 lights years away think of it as a ball of energy and that you see a small part via converging rays of energy you look at a small part of the surface of a shpere at that point 5 light years dia....if you could stand back they could be seen differently... what we find should not be too much of a surprise if we consider all the stuff out there pumping all the stuff out there there really is a lot... space is cramed packed so we will think we find more whereas it will be our appreciation of the enormity that will see all measurements expand on the record but it may be no more than us seeing what is there as oppossed to any growth in radiation or matter.
