:hi::eyepop:

What can I say, today I bought a Telrad, a Barlow collimator and a Nagler 17ml EP.

The Telrad, well ....... what took me so long, how easy is this fantastic finder scope to use. Bang on the object every time like reading a map.... bloody beautiful :D.

The Barlow collimation.... Wow, just Wow. Never knew how easy to collimate a dob could be before this purchase. Cost a bit but well worth the money:thumbsup:.

The Televue 17ml Type 4 Nagler........ I had roughly 15 minutes so far tonight ( too much clouds in Melbourne tonight ) but they were the best 15 minutes I have had ever as an Amateur Astronomer. Never have I seen Jupiter so clear and with its bands, almost could make out some color.....maybe it was my excitement :screwy:. Felt like I was walking on the moon even with the clouds rolling in.

Cant stop shaking my head and thinking what a fool I have been living without these wonderful pieces....... what an improvement to my Star Gazing. Love it when little surprises like these can magnify the joy I get as an Amateur Astronomer.

Thanks to all the people that replied to my other post ...... your experience and wealth of knowledge is precious and I appreciate so much. Thank you.

Clear skyes to all(except if you live Melbourne:lol:) Alex.

Congrats Alex on your new purchases. They sound a treat as well, you're making me drool over lots of things that I want, but can't afford (just yet).

Sorry for the language Astro, got a little bit excited. No offence was meant. Please accept my apology. Trying to edit it.

Glad to hear that you're so happy. The Telrad is indeed a great tool as is a barlowed collimator. And a good eyepiece is pure joy. I am contemplating a 17mm Nagler IV to replace my 24 Pan and 17mm LVW - but they are such good eps that its a bit hard to decide. I am sure you'll have many happy nights to come!

Great report, good to see such enthusiasm :thumbsup:

Another thumbs up for the Telrad. Really helps finding stuff especially if you're using a right-angle finder. Got a telrad on my 12" and a Quickfinder on the 10".

Like a Kid in a candy store :D. What is it with astronomy that gives you such a buzz. Little improvements, new finds etc..... get you so stoked. I could'nt stop thinking about looking into the heavens all day just counting the minutes till the sun went down. I guess its that your constanly learning and discovering new things all the time that gets me pumped up, it feels like a treasure map waiting to be explored and every new night is a new adventure. Blah Blah Blah :eyepop: Just luv it ...... cant get enough.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Alex.
