Good shot Geoff - colours look a bit muted compared to some other M20 images, but I like it! Plenty of detail there, looks well tracked too.

I'm fascinated by the red wispy nebulosity you've brought out at the bottom of the field too, but the Triffid has a very pleasing aspect. Plenty of milky way stars too.

Very nice image. I am interested in the your subs duration and did you use luminance? I have a QSI too and while my telescope is a different optical design I am interested in your thoughts. I really like mine but have found the off axis guider a little bit of a challenge.

Colour is great and processing is superb.

That bit of "nebulosity" bottom right is more likely a reflection of some sort. Is there a bright star just outside the frame there?

I used 5 min subs. I would like to go longer, but I'm having tracking issues. I always use some luminance frames, usually of the same total length as the colours. I calibrate, stack and (usually) make the colour image in CCDStack, but combine the RGB and L in Photoshop. The off-axis guider with the Orion Starshoot usually picks up a star, but occasionally I have to search for one. Getting the guide camera and main camera to focus simultaneously was a bit of a fiddly business, but once done it's done for life.

Ah thanks for that Geoff. Yeah that off axis guider can be a little tricky to get working. Slowly getting mine sorted. This is superb for 5 minute subs. Certainly wonderful colouring. I will be using CCDstack too, but incorporating L in there too.
