I am looking for a Sirius 2.3m complete observatory (or an equivalent other brand) for my remote observatory project in Coonabarabran, NSW). The best would be the version completely automated (shutter+rotation+maxdome) but can also buy the manual version and than buy the necessary kit HW myself.
Please send me pictures, price desired and current location.

Thanks for your advise! Actually I am a bit surprised to hear about your negative experience, so far I found quite positive comments about Sirius products, I will however keep your feedback in consideration!

The current trend is toward clamshells (or roll offs) for remote setups due to thermals in traditional slit domes (for the best imaging possible in dark skies), have you thought of a clamshell?.

Yes Fred, that was my first option, unfortunately the price Astrohaven quoted me for their 7 feet Dome assembly with Powered Hatch System was 12,594 USD, plus 720 USD for crating, plus 600 USD for a single Base ring 12 inches high (you need at least 2). Of course shipping to Australia and GST excluded. If you are aware of any other (local?) supplier able to provide a clamshel solution with a down-to-earth price you are most that welcome to give me a feedback!

I would seriously look at a roll off shed.
It has the best of all worlds. Easy to have it remote controllable, open view with 360 deg unobstruction. Also great when cleaning, as all dust goes straight out.
