Isn't it just a beautiful nebula!
It deserves so much more recognition than it gets.
Lovely image Peter.

moooooreee expppoooossure!!
Looking good... I love the sharpness of alnitak, Next time I'd be going for either 35~40x 3min or 10~11x 5min to bring out its finer wispy areas..

Nice work Peter.
I think it deserves a bit more work in PS. A quick curves adjustment and shadows/highlights tweak really brings out the flame a lot better.
Well done.

Thanks everyone. Definately would have benefited from more data but sunrise got the better of me. I got to the point with curves where it didn't seem to be getting any better so I stopped - what's your secret Matty?

No secret Peter. ;)
I found using a Shadows/Highlight adjustment achieved a much better result than anything I could get with a curves adjustment. Here is what I got with a Shadows/Highlight adjustment and a slight curves adjustment. Couldn't really do much else with the small jpg.

Good image Peter - it has an eerie beauty about it ! There's no rule that says you have to over-saturate every image ;)
