I was finally free of tube currents after I dragged the C14 to the Florida Keys last week and set it up on the grass far from the house. Sept 16th was the 30th wedding anniversary of Gail and I. We stayed at a rental house a few miles from the location of the famous Florida Winter Star Party.

The Jupiter image the best I could get using an exposure of 30 fps with a 2X Barlow. Poor transparency prevented me from using 60 fps.

Processing was done with Astro IIDC. What do I have to do to get the huge pictures that Bird gets? Dump the DMK? Perhaps he can tell me the size of the raw image he captures in pixels with his camera (640 x 480?).
I have tried converting my QT movies to .avi and processing through Registrax but all I seemed to accomplish is to get a less hard edge on the planet through the use of the DeRing filter.

Sorry about putting the red spot on the bottom. Not the convention everyone else seems to use.

You have a similar system to mine. I have a C14 and get quite large image scale with a 2x, filter wheel and lumenera Skynyx 2-0. Please click on the earth and cosmos link below and check out the planetary gallery. You should get a similar image scale as what I am getting if you have the same or similar components in place.

I would suggest you take AVI then processing Registax and Astra image for deconvolution. This image is a little over processed but the detail is certainly available in the image.

Nice image Dave, I guess Jupiter doesn't get very high up from your location, so that even makes it a better achievement.

Happy 30th aniversary, had mine last month, so can relate to it.

All the best for more nice images.
