Hi All,

I have just finished looking at JJJ's shots and remembered my own, taken from the Bradfield Highway this morning on the way over the Harbour Bridge, which is normally visible coming down the hill.

Shows you the extent of the dust and the overall visibility reduction.

The sequence starts around the Falcon St onramps and continues down to the bridge and the last two are SUPPOSED to be of the Sydney Skyline looking over Circular Quay.

As you can see, the bridge was hidden from view until about 150m away from it.

Apologies for the Blackberry camera quality. (TIP) Press the NESW button at the top of the image browser to put the whole pic on the screen (4 arrows in a box)

Regards

Chris

V.nice captures Chris.
It certainly was an amazing sight this morning.
I can just imagine what it was like down around the bridge & CBD area.

That would have caused a bit of a havoc in the city traffic. I heard this kind of dust storn is a 70 year event. Not many people seen it like this before and the only one that can remember anything coming close to it are mostly oldies?

Thanks Andrew,

Not exactly HD but the Blackberry didnt do so bad considering it was through the windscreen.

Traffic wasn't too bad Marc, luckily there weren't too many accidents as far as I am aware so it all moved OK, just seemed like we were Sojourners or Pathfinders on Mars.

Glad to hear you haven't had a share Leon, the dust has gotten into EVERYTHING, everywhere you look there is dust pervading into the cracks. Luckily there isn't much inside and I have the scopes in the inside study with a sturdy weatherstrip at the bottom of the door from the garage, so no dust has seeped in....yet.

Cheers

Chris

Gee's Chris that is not good mate, :eyepop: my brother just rang from QLD and said the Sun was barley visible, and if it turned to rain shortly it would be mud for miles.

I feel for you guys up north, millions of tons of top soil lost again

Leon

Yeah, I thought that myself this morning, imagine if you spent $100-$200 on topsoil on the weekend top dressing the lawns and then BAM, Monday morning, free topsoil for all!

Worse than having my car washed on Monday....

Typical.
